Connor in Rhodolite, Amethyst and Obsidian
New Ravenna Mosaics announces a new collection of Plaid and Gingham mosaics designed by Sara Baldwin. Available in jewel glass and natural stone, the collection comprises 5 classic designs - Rory, Hamish, Bonnie, Conner, and McIntyre. The mosaics are all hand cut and assembled on the Eastern Shore of Virginia where New Ravenna Mosaics employs over 100 artisans to create their handcrafted tile designs. Baldwin grew up on a nearby farm and loved gingham and plaid fabric as a child. Her mother taught her to sew and it was these designs reminiscent of her Scottish McCaleb family ancestors that the aspiring designer used for her experiments in fashion and now employs in beautiful jewel glass and stone mosaic tiles.

clé introduces metallic tiles in porcelain, ceramic and limestone that have been painted, glazed, and printed with the glimmer of silver, gold, iron, platinum, and copper. Each artist has interpreted the glory of metal in their own way from the manipulation of intense heat to delicate brush strokes. In Italy, Adriano Ricchetti at Il Monile has devised a way to turn gold voluptuous, using his technical virtuosity to fuse ceramic with glaze until the two become one. Along with gold, the Byzantina rectangle series includes iron, platinum, and silver.

New Ravenna Mosaics, famous for its amazing mosaic backsplash designs, is proud to introduce their collaboration with product designer Erin Adams. Adams has been creating mosaics in a twenty year career that has also encompassed housewares and interior design. Known for her vivid palettes and experiments with stained glass, Adams celebrates folk art traditions to mid-century graphics while paying homage to the artists that have inspired her. In addition to the core selection of jewel glass colors offered by New Ravenna Mosaics, Adams has incorporated additional opaque hues and named them after the design icons she admires. Aalto, Girard, Knoll, Ponti, Zeisel and Eames all have a place in her personal color vocabulary. They certainly should find the way in your glass mosaic splashback.

Fiona jewel glass mosaic splashback
The fresh, vibrant colors of spring are celebrated in new mosaics from Sara Baldwin, founder and creative director of New Ravenna Mosaics. Made entirely by hand in Virginia, the glass mosaic splashback designs are inspired by the inlay technique which originated in the 17th century India. Baldwin interprets her fascination with the cultures of South Asia, replacing traditional bone and mother of pearl with brilliant jewel glass and natural stone. Fiona, Jacqueline Vine and Climbing Vine are delicate organic Glass mosaic splashbacks that represent growth and renewal.
