The new Miele DA 7000 recirculation hood is ideal for use in passive and low-energy housing because it does not release heat to atmosphere and is simple to install. With the DA 7000 designer range, Miele offers two new cooker hoods which operate solely in recirculation mode. The unique elliptical shape and excellent absorption of unpleasant kitchen smells count among the most prominent properties. The hood comes in a 90cm wide DA 7090 W wall and a 100cm wide DA 7000 D island model. Called Aura, a breath of air in Latin, as it appears to float above the cooking surfaces, in particular the island model which is suspended by 4 virtually invisible steel wires. At the widest of the hood elliptical shape, the canopy measures no more than 16cm, gently petering out towards the sides
These new recirculation hoods are expertly designed to eliminate unwanted odours, thanks to the highly efficient NoSmell active charcoal filters and a powerful yet compact fan with a built-in height of only 9cm. The DA 7090 W wall hood has two and DA 7000 D island model has four such filters. Because air dwells longer in the large carbon filters than on conventional recirculation hoods, the reduction in cooking odours is noticeably better. And because of the enlarged filter area, the charcoal filters do not need to be replaced as often.
The black glass fascia houses sleek touch controls. The white upper and lower panels stand in stark contrast to the fascia. Optionally, these two surfaces can be powder-coated in all RAL colours on special request. The 10-ply metal grease filters are protected by a stainless-steel grille which adds to the attractive appeal of these hoods.
Technically, the Aura recirculation hoods offer the best Miele technology, including 3-speed + Intensive fan with 600 m³/h rate, electronic touch controls, 5- or 15-minute follow-up extraction, filter saturation indicator, dishwasher safe metal grease filters, 20 watt halogen lights with dimmer function and safety auto switch-off. They also feature Miele Con@ctivity which links hood and cooking surface, ensuring that the hood operation automatically adjusts according to the cooking intensity. Seen in stores for approximately € 2,700.
