The first truly Green steam iron is based on the excellent AEG Electrolux 4Safety steam iron and makes the rather unpopular duty of getting your garments wearable on public again after a wash, a much less annoying chore.
The versatile AEG DB 5136GR 4Safety Green was developed with great theme of sustainability in play. Even the packaging is made of 99% recycled paper, going much further than a typical packing box. The iron housing is made using at least 33% of recycled plastics, white the water and electricity consumption is cut by one-third when compared to other steam irons.

Electrolux just reveals unique vacuum cleaners that have been made from plastic waste collected from the world's oceans. The event marks the next chapter and continuation of the Vac from the Sea initiative that aims to raise awareness around ocean plastic waste and inspire consumers and industry to more recycling.

The new Öko (Eco) Lavatherm T59880 from AEG features the innovative compressor and the inverter motor to achieve 'A - 50%' energy rating, essentially meaning that this dryer uses 50% less energy than comparable 'A' rated dryers. Basically, the new Eco Lavatherm completes a full 7 kg wash load with only 1.6 kWh, getting maximum efficiency with minimum power consumption.
