Hybrid water heater by GE - first Energy Star Rated

While we normally do not write about something as mundane and often unattractive as a water heater, new GE hybrid water heater is certainly worth of noticing. This is the first ever water heater to be listed on U.S. Department of Energy website as Energy Star Rated. With its innovative approach, the hybrid water heater combines heat pump technology with traditional electric elements, pulling heat from surrounding air and transferring it to the tank. Such a process creates the same amount of hot water as a traditional water heater while reducing energy expenses up to 62% and having a rather dramatic impact on monthly utility bills and the environment. Your annual savings can reach $320.

Realizing that after air heating and cooling, home water heating is the largest in residential energy consumption, and while our homes have gotten generally more energy efficient, most Americans still have conventional water heaters that are barely more efficient than ones sold 20 years ago and the percentage of energy used to heat water has been growing, GE designed this hybrid water heater to take care of environment and your bank account.

The GE hybrid water heater features an easy-to-use electronic control system that offers both simplicity and flexibility, giving you all control you need. Set the thermostat and forget it or easily change the desired water temperature or operating mode to maximize energy efficiency.

A Super Eco wash program dedicated to cottons and EasyCare fabrics not only maintains an AEG-Electrolux tradition of producing eco friendly domestic appliances, but is the world first ever washing machine to use cold water in a wash cycle along with cold active/activated washing powders and solutions such as Ariel Excel Gel.
